This week in Pre-K…

We have continued learning about our family routines in the morning, including brushing our teeth, getting dressed, and eating a healthy breakfast. Some of our favorite children’s books we read this week included “Froggy Gets Dressed”, “Time of Day”, and “The Napping House”. Some of the learning centers the children had the opportunity to visit included dressing Froggy at the flannelboard, a rhyming game with Froggy, creating snow-fun artwork out of shaving cream, ice cube paintings, and creating a mini-book of “The Napping House” so they could retell the story in sequence. In addition to our regular daily activities, the children have been busy preparing their costumes and scenery, creating invitations (which you should receive today), and practicing for our play performance of the Little Red Hen, which is scheduled for our next Family Friday, on January 20th at 10:30 a.m., in the CES Auditorium. We look forward to seeing you there!

Reminders:

• Please help your child to select one item for their assigned show and tell day. This way, they will have enough time to be more descriptive in their sharing experience.
• If you would like a copy of our mini-concert in December and the upcoming play performance, please send in a blank DVD, labeled with your child’s name by next Friday, January 20th. Mrs. Houle has graciously offered to prepare copies for anyone who is interested.
• We are looking for families who would be willing to prepare some baked breads for the reception following “The Little Red Hen.” If you would be able to bake for us, or donate some of the various spreads (i.e. jam, cream cheese, peanut butter, butter, etc.), please drop us a note in the school folder or email us.
